Weekend full of movies

Jeremy was out of town this weekend, so I spent pretty much the entire weekend watching movies.

Friday night, I went to my friend Katrina's and we made the MOST delicious Fall adult beverage called Spiced Caramel Apple.  I would not be a good blog friend if I did not share this recipe.

Spiced Caramel Apple

2 oz ginger liqueur
1 oz caramel vodka
2 1/2 oz apple cider

Rim martini glass with cinnamon and sugar and set aside. Add ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into martini glass.

Easy peasy and oh so delicious!!! We tried it with both regular apple cider and spice cider and decided we liked the spiced cider better. And after a drink or two, we started mixing equal parts ginger liqueur and caramel vodka, oops!

While consuming our yummy drinks, we decided to watch What to Expect When You're Expecting. I thought this was a great movie! It was funny when needed, but also a little sad at times. After the movie, we thought it would be a brilliant idea to walk to a local dive bar. Trina's husband was a little worried and thought we were crazy, but we assured him that with a couple of Maglites no one would mess with us. It was a great night!

Saturday, I was nursing a terrible hangover headache. What better to do when you've got a terrible headache than lay on the couch and watch movies all day. I watched Eclipse, Field of Dreams, She's the One and Cry-Baby. Cry-Baby might just be one of the cheesiest movies ever, but my cousins and I used to watch it when we were younger and loved it.

Sunday, my MIL and I went to see Pitch Perfect. I love love LOVED this movie. I'm a huge fan of musicals, so this was right up my alley. We laughed so hard and decided that it was just a great movie all around! Unless you just completely hate music, I highly recommend this movie.

After the movie, we decided we might as well rent a couple more movies. So we rented The Five Year Engagement and Katy Perry: The Movie. I'm not ashamed to say that I loved the Katy Perry movie. It was fascinating hearing her back story and also seeing behind the scenes of the concerts. Russell Brand is a douche! The Fiver Year Engagement was good, but not great in my book. MIL and I agreed that the first 30-45 minutes and the last 30 minutes were great, but they just drug out the middle too long.

It was a super relaxing weekend!!! I'm not sure I've watched that many movies in the past month!

What did y'all do this weekend?

It's Back!!!

Fall is back!!! For about a week, Mother Nature decided to be a little biotch and pretend it was summer again. Monday, it was 100! It rarely got to 100 in the middle of the summer. Last year, we hardly had summer here at all and then come October Mother Nature decided it was time for summer. I was so over it by that time!!! This year, we had a fairly warm summer, so I'm hoping Mother Nature realizes summer is over and brings on the gorgeous fall weather.

Since it's a beautiful 70 degree day, I am in complete fall mode! So, I decided to do a little online shopping and create a collage of some of the things I need want for fall.

1. perfect chambray ex-boyfriend shirt found here.
I have been searching and searching for the perfect chambray shirt and keep coming back to this one. Unless someone can lead me to the perfect chambray shirt that is a little cheaper, I might have to bite the bullet and pay the darn $70! Please help!

2. TOMS Taupe Suede Women's Desert Wedges found here
I tried these on at Nordstrom and instantly fell in love! I did NOT want to take them off. They are the PERFECT shoe for fall, but unfortunately I have to wait until Christmas.

3. La'Rue Leg Warmers found here
I am a HUGE leg warmers and boots fan! I love the colors these leg warmers come in and the price is hard to beat!

4. Breakfast at Tiffany's Poncho found here
This poncho looks so stylish, yet comfortable! I would wear it with some skinny jeans and black boots.

5. Ecote Intarsia Cardigan found here
I am just a little in love with the print of this oversized cardigan.

6. Color-Block Sweater found here
Coral was my favorite color for summer and this is a great way to transition it into fall.

7. My Favourite Leopard Print Scarf found here
I love love love leopard print!!! Add a little fun to a plain outfit with this scarf.

8. BDG Abstract Leggings found here
Leggings are my favorite thing to wear in the fall! I usually stick with basic black or at least a solid color, but I'm thinking I need to branch out with a funky print this year.

9. Steve Madden Troopa Boot found here
I really wanted these boots last year and I still REALLY want them this year. My Christmas wishlist is getting longer and longer!!!

What are some of your favorite fall fashions?

Eden's Edge, Eli Young Band, LBT and Rascal Flatts... Oh my!!!

Last week, I posted about winning tickets to a concert. Mom and I got all countried up and made the hour and a half drive last Thursday and boy was that drive worth it!!!

First up was Eden's Edge. Eden's Edge is a new, up and coming band from Arkansas and they are adorable and AMAZING!!!

Next, was Eli Young Band. I love love love their song Crazy Girl and I sang along at the top of my lungs!!!

And then.... My all-time favorite Little Big Town!!!! Have I mentioned how much I love LBT?! I first heard about LBT about 6 years ago now and it was love at first sound. This group can harmonize like no other! This was my sixth time seeing them in concert and they NEVER disappoint. On the way to the concert, mom and I stopped at Target to get their new album Tornado. It is amazing just like all the rest of the albums. They sang some of their old songs, some of the songs off their new album and they even did Lady Gaga's Born This Way! It was a-freaking-mazing!!!

And last, but certainly not least... Rascal Flatts!!! Rascal Flatts was my first big country concert 8 years ago. I realized it has been 8 years while sitting at the concert. That makes me feel old! They put on a GREAT concert! They even had the audience name a few songs they wanted to hear and played them. It was Joe Don's birthday, so they sang happy birthday to him and brought out a cake. They also did a short song thanking God, which made me proud to be a country music fan.

Here are a few pictures we took at the concert

It was a wonderful evening and I'm so glad I got to share it with my mom!!!

Fabulous Fall

I don't know about y'all, but I absolutely LOVE Fall! Pumpkin, hoodies, boots, Starbucks seasonal drinks, chili, etc...

It is still fairly warm here during the day, but the nights have totally seemed like fall. Every night, I want to light a fire in our fireplace. I am a sucker for fall decorations and almost couldn't wait for my mom to get here September 4 to get the decorations out. But... I thought it would be a fun thing for us to do together, so I reluctantly waited. The decorations have been up for almost two weeks now and as excited as I always am for Christmas decorations, I will be sad when it's time to pack up the Fall decor.

When I got the new Fall Scentsy catalog and saw the owl warmer, I was in LOVE! But, seeing as I already have three full-size warmers and a wall plug-in, Jeremy was less than thrilled about the thought of spending $35 on ANOTHER warmer. We were at Wal-Mart and I found the owl warmer shown in the last picture for $15! And I even think it's cuter than the Scentsy warmer! Score!!! I'm warming Yankee Cranberry Zest now and it smells AMAZING!!!

Only a few more days until it is officially Fall!!!

Missing Missouri

I am really missing Missouri and the small town I grew up in, Seneca.

Things I miss most about Seneca:
1. My family
2. Knowing almost everyone by name
3. High school football games
4. Sister's II and all the ladies that work there
5. My white house on the hill
6. The tree on the outskirt of town that changes the prettiest colors in the fall
7. Snow days
8. Little and Big Lost Creek
9. Riding bicycles through town on a hot summer day
10. Going to Dairy Queen with my mom for strawberry shortcake

Hopefully, I will get to make a trip back home soon!

My little Hallo-weiner!!!

My little mini dachshund Peanut looking so happy in his halloween pajamas. He's such a funny little guy when you put any kind of clothes on him. He runs all around the house like something is chasing him, jumps on every piece of furniture and rolls around. I don't know if he thinks the clothes will come off if he does this, but it is the cutest thing. I just love my little man!

Lil' C, Big R, Jr. Bitz and Lil' Bitz!!!

I love my brother-in-law and sister-in-law!!! They are the best siblings I could ever ask for! Whether we are just hanging out watching youtube videos, taking goofy pictures at K-Mart, going out dancing or playing rock band, we all have a blast together. They live in Arizona, so we have to make the most of our time together whenever we get the chance. Randy (brother-in-law) comes to California every other month to work, so we get to see him a lot more than Christina (sister-in-law). He is here working now, so Christina came to visit the first weekend of October. I picked Christina up for the airport on Thursday and we spent some much needed girl time hanging out in SF. We walked around Fisherman's Wharf, went to Capurro's for crab legs (the rest of the family doesn't like seafood, so this was a treat for us) and did a little shopping at Union Square. Thursday night, we ate dinner with the family and watched Iron Man 2. Friday, Christina, Sharon (mother-in-law) and I went out to lunch and did a little shopping. Friday night, the four of us "kids" grilled, played Rock Band and went out dancing. Saturday, we had breakfast, hung out with the family and grilled tri-tip for dinner. Sunday, we had breakfast and then played ladder ball in the backyard until Randy had to take Christina back to the airport. It was a great weekend and I was very sad to see Christina leave!

Btw... the title of this blog is our Rock Band rap names. :)
