After reading Kristen's blog post today, I realized that I don't have an "Our Love Story" or "How We Met" section on here. So, I decided I would share this story with you now.
Jeremy and I met February 16, 2008 at a bar/dance club. Yes, I met my husband at a bar. My mom always told me that I would not meet the man I was going to marry at a bar. Yes, I have made her eat her words a few times. She even admitted this in her speech at our wedding. So don't always believe people when they tell you that you can't meet a good man at a bar. However, this doesn't mean that you should just marry any man you meet at a bar and it doesn't mean that all guys at the bar are nice guys. Believe me, I dated my fair share of not-so-nice guys that I had probably met at a bar. I just got lucky that this one guy I met at a bar was a nice guy. *How many times can I say "at a bar"?*
Anyway, back to how we met. I was out with some friends for my friend Heather's birthday. I wasn't feeling too well, so I was actually thinking about leaving. I was standing by the bar talking to some friends when I saw two guys and one girl walk in. One of the guys and the girl went out to dance leaving the other guy standing there alone. He looked so bored and lonely, so me being the outgoing person I am decided to go talk to him. I walked up to him and gave him the best pick up line ever, "You look bored". Seriously, how creative am I? Apparently, he thought it was a good pick up line, because we started talking and kept talking the rest of the night. At the end of the night, he asked for my phone number and I told him I was the text messaging queen. He did not abide by the 48 hour man rule for calling a girl, he text me that night. Later, I found out he hadn't really texted much before that, but since I was the texting queen he learned to text real quick.
The next day, he was working (he was a commercial pilot at the time) and I was at my grandparents for a family dinner. We text back and forth during all of his stops (he flew one of the 19 passenger planes from Missouri to Arkansas to Texas and back to Missouri). I was texting him about all the yummy food I was having at my grandparents and he told me he was having Taco Bell, to which I responded "That shit will be flying out your ass in .2". Really?! Did I really just say that after knowing the guy for less than 24 hours. Yes, I sure did. He will tell you now that he already knew he was going to love me just from that statement.
So, that's how we met. His proposal was actually pretty amazing, maybe I will share that story sometime too.
