It's my birthday.... MONTH!!!

Does anyone else get super excited for their birthday month? My birthday isn't until the 28th, but March 1 comes along and WOOHOO, let's get the party started!!! I LOVE birthdays! I spent my 30th birthday in Vegas. I'm not sure how 31 can top that, but I have a feeling this is going to be one of the best birthdays ever! New year, new age, new, city, new beginnings! Bring it 31!

I sure have missed this little blog world and am promising myself that I'm going to start blogging more regularly again. It was about this time last year that I started blogging more and really started to find my place here. I've made some great friends over the past year and am looking forward to watching those friendships continue to grow and also to making new friends. Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive during all these changes I'm going through. I love my blog sisters!

I'm packing up to head to St. Louis to celebrate a friends birthday. I LOVE being back in the Midwest and being much closer to my family and friends!!!

Happy weekend!!!

A little bit of this and that...

October has been a pretty busy month, so my blog has been getting neglected. Poor little blog is starting to feel lonely! This week is a busy week getting ready for my friend Melissa's wedding, so this poor little blog will probably be on the back burner for one more week.

A few things I've been up to over the last week...

Filled out my ballot while having a glass of wine
Went to Target to get Taylor Swift's new album, Red. It's been on repeat since Wednesday. Love it!!! Thanks Shanna for telling me to go buy it. :)
Before going to get my hair done.
After getting my hair done. Long layers and bangs!!!
Took a trip to the pumpkin patch.
Got a rare picture of this pretty kitty that usually lives under the bed.

Also, went to lunch with my friend, Lacey, for her 30th birthday. Planned and successfully pulled off a surprise birthday dinner (more on that tomorrow). And went to the most fun 2 year olds birthday party.
What have you all been up to?

Thank you... Ya, you!

I just wanted to say a quick thank you to all my lovely readers. I love each and every one of you! I look forward to the comments and I look forward to reading your blog daily.

I've made some great friendships through this little blog of mine. Every day, I look forward to the email conversations, texts, fb posts and tweets that our little "blamily" as Justyn refers to us has. The other day, I told her that if we are blamily then that makes us "blisters" (blog sisters). I know, I'm a huge dork.

Anyway, I just wanted y'all to know that you make my day a little lot better!!! Thank you for always being here for me and being so supportive! I wouldn't trade my blamily for anything!!!

Ok, enough of this mushy-gushy stuff. Happy freaking Friday! Cheers to the freakin' weekend!

That's what I've always been...

Friday morning, I got a text from my friend Art, who I've talked about here.

Above is the picture message I got from Art. To which I responded, what the heck? And our conversation went on about how he couldn't believe I didn't remember this. Apparently, I drew this picture for him in high school. This girl was supposed to be his girlfriend and for some reason I named her Shitface. I have no idea why. I guess I've just always been a little crazy and had a very active imagination. So, I proceeded to laugh about this all day Friday and the conversation with Art went on.

And that's most of the rest of the conversation that kept me laughing all day.

Art and I can have some pretty serious conversations and then we can also have some very silly conversations. We've been friends since kindergarten and I wouldn't trade our relationship for the world.

Also, I realize there is a gun pointing at Art's name. No, that does not mean I want to shoot or kill Art. It just means I think he's a badass!

Roommates Forever

The other day, I was watching reruns of Friends and the episode "The One on the Last Night" where Rachel is moving out so Chandler can move in came on. It may have been my period, it may have been that I seem to be getting more sentimental with age or maybe I'm just missing my friends and family in Missouri, but I cried like a little baby! It reminded me of leaving my apartment to move to California. Leaving that apartment was one of the hardest things I've ever done. It wasn't that it was a spectacular apartment or anything. Although, it was a brand new 2 bed/2 bath apartment when we moved in 2 years earlier. It was that I had the BEST roommate in the world and I was leaving her.

Tresh and I met through ex-boyfriends (at least those boys were good for something) when I was 22. We became great friends very quickly and had so much fun hanging out together. At 24, I was getting over the break-up of the guy who introduced us and Tresh was engaged to a major cheater (he had cheated on her quite a few times with the same girl). I convinced her that she needed to leave him and we decided to get a place together. I introduced Tresh to her now husband, Anthony and they started dating shortly after we moved in. We had so many great times in that apartment! So many fun wine nights, the best BBQ ever, spending hours at the pool, cooking dinner, sharing clothes, etc. We rarely ever had a fight or disagreement.

Moving out was one of the saddest times of my life. Tresh was getting ready to get married and I was moving 1800 miles away. Tresh had already moved most of her stuff, so there was barely anything left in there when I said goodbye. My mom and her boyfriend came over really early the Saturday morning Jeremy and I left for California and said goodbye. I tried not to cry when I said goodbye to them, because I knew it would just make my mom even sadder. As Jeremy and I were getting ready to pull out of the parking lot, I realized I still had my key. So, I went upstairs and unlocked the apartment for the last time. I looked around and it just hit me right then that I was really leaving. I walked through our empty apartment and just thought about all the great times we had there. I left my key, locked the door for the last time and went to the truck and started bawling.

Tresh and I have been through so much together; break-ups, lost friendships, marriages, my mom being sick, and so much more. She is one of the few people that no matter how long it has been since we have last talked or seen each other, we will pick up right where we left off. I know that I have a forever friend in that girl. I was a bridesmaid in her wedding and she was a bridesmaid, promoted to Matron of Honor (long story) in my wedding. When I go home to Missouri, I make sure to spend as much time with her as possible and her and Anthony always welcome me into their home with open arms.

Thank you Tresh for being one of the best friends I could ever ask for! Love my Tresh The Dish! Even though we are 1800 miles apart and the tornado took our apartment, we will be roommates in our hearts forever!

I'm a bad blogger...

Well hello there, it's been awhile! I have been avoiding the computer for almost two weeks now, but I'm back! I've missed the blog world and all my fabulous blogger friends. I've got a lot of catching up to do.

This past weekend was a good one! Friday, our friends Dan and Katrina and their two adorable kids Kaiden and McKenna came over for a bbq and some rock band. If you've never seen an 18 month old and a 3 year old play rock band, you're missing out.
I got this little gem in the mail from the lovely Morgan at Momma to Binks & Bubble. Thanks Morgan, it was the perfect little bit of sunshine to brighten my day! I absolutely love it!
Soaking some fruit for some yummy Sangria
Kenna
  Kaiden putting out the vibe

Saturday, I went shopping and went to lunch with my MIL. Then, I met Lacey for coffee. We have a bad habit of sitting at the coffee shop so long that we end up getting two coffees. Lacey went up to order our  second iced coffees and the cashier told her they ran out of coffee. Seriously, a coffee shop ran out of coffee?!?  Saturday night, Jorge and Lacey came over for drinks, desserts and a movie. We watched The Devil Inside, it was ridiculously stupid!
We also watched this video about 5 times. Gotta love Jenna Marbles. "Sir Mix A Lot taught me that I can only be 36-24-36 if I'm 5'3"

Sunday, we went to the beach with Jorge and Lacey. It was a GORGEOUS day!

It was a perfect summer weekend. I hope this summer is full of bbq's, beach days, water parks, dog walks, floating the river and so much more! I LOVE summer!!!

Girl Time!!!

I had a blast in San Luis Obispo with my girl, Erica! It was filled with yummy food, drinks, girl talk, blaring some J.T., swinging on the beach and spending about 2 hours playing in Sephora. I am soooooo exhausted! We went to bed at about midnight last night and had to get up at 4 A.M. to get ready to leave. Since my brain isn't fully functioning today, I will just share some of the pictures we took (sorry in advance for the picture overload).

The adorable place we had dinner on Monday
 Chicken curry
Erica thought there was no door to the bathroom. This is right after I said,
"There is too a door, you dork!"
Pismo Beach
E + L
  I seriously heart this girl!!!
 Swinging on the beach
Just a swingin...
  Toes in the sand
I could spend EVERY day at the beach
Friends forever, no matter how far apart we are
"Is that a cookie?!?" Seriously, you would have thought she'd never seen a cookie before
Who eats ice cream for dinner? That's right, we do!!!

Keep calm and eat cupcakes

I already miss E terribly, but it's so comforting knowing that no matter how far apart we are or how long we go without seeing each other, nothing will ever come between our friendship.

Hello, Friday! I've been waiting for you!

Ah, finally Friday! Is anyone else as excited for Friday as I am? The fact that it is Friday the 13th isn't even getting me down!

Things I'm looking forward to this weekend/upcoming week:

1. My dinner date at Olive Garden with my gorgeous friend, Alisha. I'm soooo ready for a carb overload, a glass of wine and some good girl talk. You just can't beat girls nights!
Me, Becca and Alisha - Scenario: The look you would have if someone told you Team Jacob was better than Team Edward. Ha!

2. Dinner at Cheesecake Factory and our camp in tomorrow night with Ashley and Daniel (otherwise known as Smashley and Chewing Boy). And yes, I said camp in, not camp out. We are going to have a sleepover in the living room, complete with camping chairs, sleeping bags and a cooler. We might even make a fire in the fireplace and make s'mores!
Ashley and me on our way to the beach last summer

3. Coffee date on Sunday with my friend, Lacey. I have an addiction to coffee! I can't get enough of it! The caffeine doesn't do much for me, but I just love the warm feeling it gives me inside. I was talking to a friend about coffee the other day and he said coffee is like a good hug. I couldn't agree with that more.

4. I am so excited to get my headwrap and necklace order from the lovely Morgan at Momma to Binks&Bubble. If you haven't checked out her shop, Adie's Lovelies, you should head on over right now and check it out. She makes some seriously cute stuff and even does custom orders all while juggling two kids and a hubby. I don't know how she does it!

Those are a few of the upcoming things I'm excited for. I'm ready for a good weekend filled with friends and laughter! I hope y'all have a FABULOUS weekend!!!

Wonderful Weekend

I hate to admit it, but I failed miserably at my diet this weekend. I am starting it back up tomorrow though!

This weekend was a pretty fun-filled weekend. Friday night, our friends Danny and Katrina came over for fondue. We made Swiss-Cheddar fondue and dipped bread, apples and veggies in it. Then we gorged out on filet, chicken and shrimp dipped in oil. Soooo delicious! This is such a fun thing to do with friends. If you've never used a fondue pot before, I highly recommending buying one (electric) and having friends over for a fondue night. Thanks for coming over Lassens! :)

Saturday, I went wine tasting with my friend Beatrice. It was a nice girls day. We started out at J Winery then went for lunch and a beer at Patterson's Irish Pub. We then moved on to Ledson winery. After Ledson, we decided that we wanted to go somewhere else, so we decided to go to Rita's. Rita's is this little dive bar that we went to for karaoke one night and had a blast! After Rita's, we decided we should probably eat some dinner, so we decided to go to the Thai House in downtown Santa Rosa. After dinner, we went to a bar called Stout Brothers and then on the Christies for a little dancing. We had such a blast all day and it was definitely a much needed girls day. Sometimes, you just have to have a day/night out with the girls.

Today, the hubby and I have had a very relaxing day. Our day has consisted of taking a nap, watching tv and cooking dinner. It has been the perfect, relaxing day!

I hope you all had a great weekend! What did you do this weekend?
