Vegas Day 2

We got up pretty early and went for breakfast at Harrah's buffet with Brandy & Heath. After breakfast, we walked around the Venetian and Fashion Show mall. We decided to stop for an afternoon drink (ok, it was really only noon, but it's vacation right?!?) at StripBurger. Then we met up with Jorge, Lacey and Eric to do a little more walking around. Around 3:30 PM, Randy & Christina (brother-in-law and sister-in-law) text us to let us know they were almost there, so Jeremy and I headed back to our hotel to meet them. While we were waiting, we decided to play a little blackjack (the only gambling we did) and I won $15! You would've thought I won $1,000. I was so excited! Randy and Christina got there and then the party really started! The four of us have so much fun together! Jeremy and Randy are brothers and best friends. And I just have to say, I have the best sister-in-law in the world! We had Chipotle for dinner and then went to Rockhouse where ladies drink free until 12:00 AM on Thursdays! After Rockhouse, we went to Carnaval court and danced the night away!!! BEST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER!!!

Vegas Day 1

Last Wednesday... March 28th... My 30th birthday!!! We packed up the car and headed to Las Vegas. We met our friends Jorge, Lacey and Eric at a gas station at 5:30 AM and started the 9 hour drive. The drive was pretty long and uneventful, but so worth it once we got there. After getting to our hotel and checking in, our friends Brandy & Heath, who flew in from Georgia, came to our hotel to get the party started. Heath is a big beer freak, so we decided to go to Sin City Brewery at the Flamingo. Jorge, Lacey and Eric met us there and we split a couple pitchers. As we were sitting there drinking, a couple girls came up and invited us to a Jim Beam party at the pool outside with free drinks and appetizers. It was a BLAST!!! One of the best parts of the whole trip. After that, we still hadn't had dinner, so we decided to go to Margaritaville. Brandy and I split the lobster and crab mac & cheese. It was oh-so delicious! Since our brother-in-law and sister-in-law were coming in the next day, we decided to head to bed at a decent time to rest up for the real party on Thursday. Day 1 of Vegas was definitely a success! Stay tuned for days 2, 3 and 4!!!

Tag! You're It!

Chantal (B), my lovely bay area blog friend, from B in the Bay tagged me in this post a few days ago and I'm finally getting the chance to play along. Thanks for the tag lady!

The Rules:

*Post these rules

*Answer the 11 questions that the tagger posted for you

*Create 11 questions of your own to ask the people that you're about to tag

*Tag people and link them with your post (and let them know they've been tagged!)

1.) What is your idea of the perfect Saturday morning?
My idea of the perfect Saturday morning is... sleeping in and then lounging around in my pj's reading a book or watching a movie with a hot cup of coffee.
2.) What is your best childhood memory?
I don't know if it's my best, but I was actually telling someone this story the other day and it just makes me smile. Long story short, my cousin Adam and I were spending the night at my grandparents and I hit my head and had to go to the hospital to get 15 stitches. When we got back to my grandparents, my cousin pulled out all the Barbies and played Barbies with me. It was just so sweet of him to care about me being hurt and I will never forget it. He would probably kill me or deny it if he knew I told this story.
3.) If you had to choose between winning the current lottery (over half a billion dollars) or never wearing anything on your feet (shoes, socks, skiis, anything) for the rest of your life, which would you choose and why? *Russ - this made me laugh*
I would definitely choose winning the lottery. I personally LOVE shoes and think most girls would agree with me. What girl doesn't love shoes?!? If I won the lottery, I could make more trips back to Missouri to see my family and I could also help my mom be more financially stable.
4.) Where was your first kiss?
My first kiss was with Corey Moorhead at Daniel Jackson's house. I had never kissed anyone before, but I thought he was a terrible kisser and broke up with him a few days later.
5.) What is the first thing you do every morning?
Let my dogs out to go potty and then feed them.
6.) Love the rain or hate the rain?
Love the rain! I absolutely love thunderstorms.
7.) Next dream vacation you would want to go on?
Hmmm... this is a tough one since there are so many places I would like to go. I have also wanted to go to Paris, so I guess I will go with that for now. Of course, next week that could change to laying on a beach with a drink in my hand. :)
8.) If you were stranded on a deserted island, what book would you take with you to pass the time?
The Bible. What better time that to read the Bible and get closer to the Lord?
9.) What is your guilty pleasure?
I would have to say reality tv. Not so much shows like Real Housewives, but more the reality contests; The Bachelor/Bachelorette, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, So you Think you Can Dance, etc.
10.) Finish this sentence - "when I grow up I want to be..."
famous... I want to be a star... I want to be in movies... Just kidding! Sadly, that is the first thing that came to mind when I read this question. Honestly, I don't ever want to grow up! But... if I have to, I guess I would say a great wife and mother.
11.) Why do you blog?
My cousin is the reason I started blogging. When I moved to California, she said it would be a great way to keep in touch and see what's going on in each others lives. I have continued blogging because it is somewhat of a journal and a place I can write down and keep my memories. And to meet great people like B!
Tag! You're it! Please stop by these great blogs I read daily.
Lesley - In Every Season

1. Which is the best vacation you've ever been on?
2. What is your favorite movie and why?
3. If you could be granted three wishes, what would they be and why?
4. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?
5. Who is your role model and why?
6. What is one thing you could not live without?
7. What is your biggest pet peeve?
8. What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?
9. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
10. What do you consider your most embarrassing moment?
11. If you could take one life-threatening risk and know you would live, what would it be?

Good friends are hard to come by

Last night I was texting my friend Meggan and at the end of the conversation we both said it is so nice that no matter how long it has been since the last time we talked we can always pick up right where we left off. Those are the best kind of friendships. The ones that it doesn't matter how often you see each other, how often you talk, how different your lives might be, you will always be friends. When we were younger, best friends came and went. One week, so and so was your best friend and then the next week it was someone completely different. I do still have some childhood friends that I know we will always be friends, but most of the friendships I cherish the most are people I met after high school. Meggan is one of those friends. We lived together our sophomore year of college and have been friends ever since. She lives in Arkansas with her husband and little boy. No matter how many miles there are between us, no distance is too far for our friendship.

First, I should probably tell you a story from back when we lived together. One day, I did something (I have no idea what is was now) and was so proud of myself. I excitedly yelled out, "I did it! I did it!" Meggan says to me, "Good job! Do you want a medal or a cookie?" I thought about it for a minute and then said, "cookie!" Meggan looks at me with a straight face and says, "Figures fatty!!!". She said the look on my face was priceless.

And now here is a bit of our conversation last night:

Me: Thanks Bacon! I can always count on your for encouragement. Well, unless I want a cookie and you call me a fatty! Lol

Meggan: Rotfl! Consider that my form of motivational speaking! Lol. See? I've always been destined to be a therapist.

Me: Destined to help people feel self conscious about themselves! That way you can charge them to talk about their emotional damage! Haha!

Meggan: That would be genius! Why didn't I think of that sooner?? Besides... I wouldn't charge you! My advice to you is all free. Lol!

Me: Sometimes unwanted, but always free!!!

Great conversations with great friends... PRICELESS!!!

May the odds be ever in your favor

Who else is super excited to see the movie?!?
Have a great weekend and may the odds be ever in your favor!

The Last Thing Thursdays #3

I'm linking up again with Jenna at The Life of the Wife. Thanks again Jenna for making me blog at least once a week for three consecutive weeks!

The Last Thing I....
Took a Picture of:
My cute little fur baby, Peanut. Doesn't he look so sweet?

Bought:
The perfect pair of mint skinny jeans! And the best thing about them, they were $18 at Ross!!!
Food I pinned on Pinterest:
Raw cookie dough bites. They sound pretty delicious and are healthy! I might be making these to put in the cooler for the 9 hour drive to Vegas next week.

Cried At:
Not gonna lie, the last thing I cried at was One Tree Hill last night. I started watching OTH about 5 years ago after a friend told me I looked like Sophia Bush. I watched one episode just to see who she was and was hooked. I made Jeremy buy me Seasons 1-4 (the ones I hadn't seen) so I could catch up. I am so sad this is the last season.
Drooled Over:
Anything lace! I am in LOVE with anything lace. Shirts, shorts, dresses... you name it, I love it!
Felt Like a Nerd For:
Being so ridiculously excited every time a preview for The Hunger Games comes on. I wish I was going to the midnight premiere, but I think I am going to have to wait until Saturday afternoon. I really hope the movie is as good as the book!
Crafted:
A picture frame for my friend, Lacey. I love making these frames and have thought about trying to sell them, but then I think that would take the fun out of making them as gifts for friends.
